Relative deprivation was an immediate by-factor, clearly evident through the revolts against the structural conditions, which ultimately abolished absolute monarchy in France (Hague, Harrop Breslin, 1992:74). Similarly to the French revolution, the Russian overthrowing of the old political system proved easier than consolidating power (Hague, Harrop Breslin, 1992:79), especially after both revolutions were influenced by the regime’s spending on warfare. Both revolutions involved peasants uprising, owing to hunger, poverty and social inequality. The Tsar was not able to meet the demands of the citizens and in so doing lost credibility. In contrast, Iran’s old regime had not been ravaged by warfare nor had it suffered monetary failure, prior to its revolution (Hague, Harrop Breslin, 1992:79). The revolution was a religious affair against the regime. Like the previous two revolutions, expectations amongst the people were not met by the regime. In conclusion, when a regime doesn’t fulfill its moral obligation to the people or if they do not meet the expectation of the citizens, relative deprivation could occur which could ultimately result in illegitimacy and a revolution.

Sexual Stereotypes in Advertis essays When marketers create advertisements they create stereotypes. The most common are gender roles. Women in advertisements are displayed as sexual objects. This works because sex is one of humans basic needs (Miller and Jowles 608). These ads are targeted toward men. If they were to put a commercial on TV of a man lounging on the couch with a remote control in his hand and popping open a beer, some men might find that appealing. But, place a sexy woman on the couch with him, drooling over his wet beer bottle and they can have a man ready to jump in the car to go get some beer. The advertiser is swaying men to purchase their product by stereotyping women as being there for men's desires. The advertiser is saying that if the consumer, a man, were to go purchase their beer, somewhere in that scenario they would get a sexy woman to go with the beer. In reality, men are not that stupid. They know if they run into the local grocery store that they cannot just pick out a beautiful woman with their beer. But still, the more outlandish, the sexier, and the more skin shown, the more that image will stick in somebody's mind. And their hopes are that the next time somebody goes to purchase a six-pack of beer, that image will still be imbedded somewhere and that person will just naturally grab their brand of beer. It only works because of the stereotype placed on the woman. In a Coors light advertisement, from Maxim For Men, a set of twins is pictured. They wear tank tops that show off their bodies standing close to each other with innocent smiles on their faces. Underneath the picture is states, Heres to the twins. Turn a few pages in the magazine and you see a subsequent ad. It is the same set of twins in cheerleading outfits, showing more skin, wearing even bigger less innocent smiles. They are distracting from the core message of your email. Business email volume is heavy, and we need to streamline our messages to assist busy readers. This quote offers only unrelated extraneous content, and requires additional valuable reader time – never good practice. (Additionally, there is a grammar error. Its’ is a grammatical formation that does not exist. The possessive form of its is its. Correct it's vs. its grammar should be, â€Å"Just when the caterpillar thought its life was over†¦Ã¢â‚¬ ) Match Business Email Signature to Your Reader This quote is particularly odd for a Human Resources manager, given the layoffs occurring across many companies. Racism has been present in our world for more than 3,000 years. Take African-Americans, before the Million Man March, Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement, black people were given less respect than dogs. For the first century of our country ¹s existence, blacks were slaves with no rights. Even after the Civil War freed them, there was no equal opportunity and much oppression of them by whites, particularly in the South. They were constant targets of violence and were put to death by racist hate groups such as the Ku Klux Klan and Nazis. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ¹s civil rights movement was the first step towards a truly de-segregated America. If it had not been for people like Dr. King, Maya Angelou and other strong-willed and just people, the country would probably still have two types of rest rooms-- one for whites and one for blacks.      Racism has been running rampant in our country through out history. In the United States during World War II, citizens of Japanese origin were taken form their homes on the West Coast and moved to inland camps by our government because, after the Japanese attack on pearl Harbor, our                                                             -2-                                         government made a generalization abut the Japanese. It decided that the Japanese Americans were a threat and so they decided to put them in camps. These camps were internment camps, not harsh like concentration camps, but devastating for people who considered themselves -- and were -- every bit as loyal citizens as the people who were incarcerating them.      In society today people look for an easy way out of problems.
